Soccer Viewership: SEP 20-26

The Mexican National Team tune-up against Peru pulls 1.7m viewers. 2nd most viewed soccer game of 2022.

Highlights/Lowlights:

• The Mexican National Team races to the top of the leaderboard. 2nd only to the UEFA Champions League Final, so far this year. The upcoming World Cup will likely move it down, of course.

• The America Leagues Cup match does well, but make no mistake. The number has very little to do with either the League Cup nor the MLS opponent. This is a Club America number.

• Welcome to Wrexham, which everyone seems to love, pops in at 203k. The series is holding on to its viewers so far.

• The Leagues Cup on Eng-lang TV pulls terrible numbers. There is no interest in these matchups. This also goes for the CONCACAF Champions League and Campeones Cup.

• The Premier League starts back up this week.

• USA v Japan didn't do well. Early kickoff, but soccer fans are familiar with that. There's just no energy around this world cup team.
