Univision's broadcasts of primetime Liga MX tops the table this week with both regulars, Chivas and Club America, the driving force behind the numbers.
Highlights/Lowlights:
• Liga MX thrives, in no small part, on TV because of the fan bases of two teams... Club America and Chivas. Both of which get near weekly games in primetime on the only OTA Span-lang network.
• Man United vs Newcastle pulled a healthy 631k on USA + another 294k on Telemundo.
• Telemundo's coverage of the PL this year is doing well. Their Span-lang simulcast of PL games tops Liga MX games on TUDN.
• Speaking of Span-lang, La Liga is still marching along as the most-watched league/event on ESPN Deportes.
• YOY to date, Liga MX is down practically across the board...

• MLS pulls itself back up over a modest 300k for the LA Galaxy/Seattle matchup. MLS has pitted a team from LA vs Cascadia in 4 of its 6 FOX games this season.
• 18-49 for MLS crept back up last weekend. Why? I don't really know. I thought that demo was leaving for Apple. Just one game, but will keep an eye on it.
• The NWSL returned to CBS last week to a similar result as last year. "400s" seems to be where the NWSL likes to be. It puts it right where MLS historically hangs out on broadcast (ABC, FOX).
• Finally, the Bundesliga's big match between Bayer and Dortmund pulls a solid 631k on ABC. Maybe it's expected now with the success of the PL on NBC but that number is the best they've done in years and tops every non-final MLS game on ABC since the start of 2021.
