The Span-lang broadcast of the Leagues Cup on Univision tops last week as the Premier League gets going a week earlier than normal (WC).
Highlights/Lowlights:
• The Leagues Cup tops 1m on Univision but is a dud on ESPN. For a Chivas matchup, that's about par for what they pull on the network for Liga MX games.
• I don't know that an Eng-lang partner would be interested in an event that maxes out at 200k, so I think there are probably a few hard conversations about the future of the Leagues Cup.
• The Premier League only had two games on "regular" TV for week one. Both did well, especially in the 18-49 demo (both games won the day on pay-TV).
• MLS had a strong ABC number for Atlanta and Seattle. Broadcast numbers for the league are about what they were last year (to date).
• The Bundesliga pulled the best number I have in my database (2019-now) for the league. A 513k might get them a couple more matches on the Disney family of nets this year.
